# Calvin returns to Geneva (1541)

John Calvin returns to Geneva and issues his Ecclesiastical Ordinances, organising the church under pastors, teachers, elders and deacons. Geneva becomes the training centre of Reformed Christianity for France, Scotland, the Netherlands and beyond. At this point in the timeline (1541), the Bishop of Rome was Pope Paul III (13 October 1534 – 10 November 1549).
